My MVP Profile: The views expressed on this post are mine and do not necessarily reflect the views of SolarWinds. SolarWinds Head Geek Microsoft MVP - Software Distribution (2005-2013) Lawrence Garvin, M.S., MCITP:EA, MCDBA, MCSA WSUS in a small business with less than 10 clients (except for some very cash-rich SBS implementations) is likely a very rare thing. Microsoft Security Essentials is able to not only detect malicious software that is trying to infiltrate your data, but also block them by activating or increasing the firewall mode (while connected to the internet). Of installations will be upgraded individually. The software's main function is to protect your computer against existing malware, viruses, and spyware. I am justĪnother speculation I might offer is that since MSE is only licensed for consumers and small businesses with less than 10 PCs, it might have been recognized that the effort in packaging the MSE upgrades for WSUS were not worth the effort, since the majority
and that speculation would be that the upgrade, originally released in April, 2012, is no longer needed by any system because the version it upgraded is no longer available for download, and thusĬould only be installed on a system that old - and I'd venture a guess that there's also a dependency of the signature files on the version of MSE installed, and that the current signature files won't even work with the older version. I could only but speculate on why it's no longer available. I am finding Ms Security Essentials definitions Updates but i don't find the KB2691905 Update
